Dropshipping Berluti: Guide To Dropshipping Handmade Luxury

Dropshipping Berluti: Guide To Dropshipping Handmade Luxury

Honestly, we wouldn’t dropship Berluti ourselves. And we wouldn’t recommend you do either. There is no benefit to the customer buying from you and little to no profit dropshipping Berluti. They also don’t offer a dropshipping service, so there could be legal issues.

If you’re not sure whether Berluti dropshipping is right for you, we’ll look at it in a bit more depth to help you decide.

We’ll also look at alternatives. Like other luxury and designer brands you can dropship easily. And alternative European leather brands that facilitate dropshipping.

Let’s get into it.

Key Takeaways

  • Dropshipping Berluti is when you list Berluti products in your dropshipping store. When a customer orders from you, you order from Berluti and ship directly to customers.
  • Berluti doesn’t offer a dropshipping service. So, if you want to dropship Berluti you’ll have to do it manually.
  • As they don’t offer dropshipping, it is difficult to make a profit and compete with Berluti’s website.
  • There are lots of other luxury brands you can dropship legally and make a profit. Suppliers like Brands Gateway and Brands Distribution make it easy to do so.

What Is Berluti Dropshipping?

Berluti dropshipping is a method of selling Berluti products online without holding any stock.

So, what does that mean? Let’s break it down.

What is Berluti?

Berluti is a French luxury leather goods brand. They specialize in shoes and boots, but also sell accessories, including belts, bags, and wallets.

The brand is high-end, with a pair of leather Oxfords costing over $2000.

Berluti products are available on its website, on luxury marketplaces, and in its physical stores.

What is Dropshipping?

Dropshipping is a method of selling online without owning stock.

  • As a dropshipper, you find a product to sell and a supplier from which to source it.
  • Then, list the product online.
  • When a customer orders from you, you contact the supplier with the order details.
  • The supplier will then pack and ship the product directly to your customer.

It’s a popular model as it’s low-risk. It also requires much less investment than white-label, private-label, retail arbitrage, and other e-commerce methods.

Is It Possible To Dropship Berluti Products?

Berluti’s website doesn’t clearly state whether it’s legal to sell its products as a dropshipper.

You can resell Berluti products on second-hand luxury sites like Vestiaire Collective. However, this isn’t dropshipping. Products sold are used and cheaper than those sold on the Berluti website. So, there is no profit to be made.

To dropship Berluti products, you would need to create a website. Then, every time you receive an order, you need to visit the Berluti website and place the order to be shipped directly to your customer.

Note: Other dropshipping sites recommend sourcing Berluti products from AliExpress. We do not recommend this. The products available on AliExpress are not authentic Berluti. Marketing the products as Berluti is misleading and not allowed.

We wouldn’t recommend dropshipping Berluti products. This is for the following reasons:

No Profit

The point of dropshipping is to generate profit. Selling full-price branded products leaves you no space for profit.

Customers can easily look at the Berluti website and check the price. Then, they’ll compare the price to your dropshipping store. They won’t buy from you if they can buy the same product directly from Berluti for less.

Brand Trust

It can take a lot of marketing to attract customers and get them to trust your dropshipping store. And high-ticket items require even more brand trust.

There is also no benefit or incentive for the customer to choose your store over the Berluti site.

This means you’ll end up spending a lot on branding and marketing. And with little to no profit margin, it's not worthwhile.

Customer Service

As dropshippers, we don’t have the same resources as luxury brands. Therefore, even with the best intentions, we can’t compete with their customer service. Customers buying expensive products will expect fast, accurate, and reliable customer service.

For example, let’s say someone has a question about how the product is manufactured, the size guidelines, or the materials used. You’ll need to contact Berluti to ask the question. Then, once you have the information, you’ll need to report back to the customer.

Going back and forth with Berluti is time-consuming and doesn’t provide the best service to the customer.

You could direct the customer to contact Berluti directly. However, this can reduce your brand trust as it takes customers away from your store.

No Automation Options

In order to grow, we always want our dropshipping stores to be easy to manage. Then, we can focus our time on marketing, building new stores, and product research.

To do this, we always use automation software. This automates your dropshipping process. When you receive an order, it will be automatically sent to your supplier. Your supplier will automatically ship the order and send the customer the shipping information. The software can also manage returns, refunds, pricing, stock, and more.

Berluti doesn’t integrate with any automation software. So, for every order you receive on your website, you have to manually place the order on Berluti’s website. You’ll then need to forward the order and shipping details.

You will also need to monitor stock levels, returns, and refunds.

This is very time-consuming and has a high risk of errors. It also leaves you with a higher financial risk.

Warranty

Berluti offers a two-year warranty for faulty merchandise in most locations.

It’s only fair to offer the same to customers who buy from your dropshipping store.

However, this can be difficult to manage. You’ll need to keep track of your customers, the date they purchased, their location, and the correspondence from Berluti.

It also means that if you want to stop selling Berluti, you’ll need to keep your store open for two years after making your last sale to honor the warranty. As a dropshipper, this can be frustrating if you want to move on or sell your business.

Return Policy

Berluti has a 30-day cooling-off returns policy. Anyone who purchases directly from Berluti has 30 days from when the product arrives to return for any reason.

If you want to sell Berluti products, you’ll need to offer the same. To offer the same, you’ll need to rely on the customer shipping the product back to Berluti correctly. Then wait for Berluti to refund you before you refund the customer.

Like we mentioned earlier, Berluti doesn’t integrate with any dropshipping or automation software. So, you’ll need to manage this manually. This is time-consuming to manage and has a high risk of manual errors and financial risk.

Grey Imports

Often, when selling full-priced or new branded products, there is little to no profit. Therefore, many people sell using Grey Imports.

This is when you buy products outside the country they were intended for and resell them. This is done without the brand owner's permission and, depending on where they’re being sold, can be illegal. Just search Tesco vs. Levi if you’re interested in a real-life case.

Instead of selling Berluti or other branded products, consider selling high-quality and luxury items that aren’t branded.

Or choose a luxury brand that allows you to dropship its products.

There are dropshipping suppliers that specialize in designer and luxury products. You can legally and easily use these companies to dropship high-end items.

Should I Dropship High-Ticket Products?

High-ticket items usually have a higher profit margin. Therefore, you need to make fewer sales than you would with low-ticket items.

However, you need a bigger upfront investment. It's also more difficult to generate sales compared to selling low-priced products.

Let’s look at the pros and cons of dropshipping high-ticket items to help you decide if they’re right for you.

Pros of Dropshipping High-Ticket Products

  • More Profit - High-ticket products will usually generate more profit than low-ticket products. For example, let’s say your profit margin is 20%. You sell one product for $10 and another for $1000. On the $10 product, you only make $2. On the $1000 product, you’ll make $200 per sale.
  • Requires Fewer Sales - As you make more per sale, you need to make fewer sales than you would with low-ticket items to make the same amount of profit. Let’s look at the example above. To make the same profit, you’d need 100 sales of the low-priced product to match one sale of the high-priced product.
  • Usually Less Competition - Due to the risks and knowledge required to dropship high-ticket items, fewer dropshippers are willing to try. So, there are fewer sellers to compete with.
  • Fewer Customers - You’ll likely make fewer sales with a high-ticket product than with a low-ticket one. Fewer sales means fewer customers. Therefore, it’s easier to manage your customer service and other aspects of your business.

Cons of Dropshipping High-Ticket Products

  • Difficult to Make Sales - A high-ticket purchase is less impulsive than a low-ticket one. Customers will consider their purchase, compare prices, check the terms, and make sure they trust your brand before they make a purchase. It’s also thought that the cart abandon rate is higher for high-ticket products.
  • High Standard - When customers buy an expensive product, they have higher expectations. This includes product quality, processing time, shipping time and method, and customer service. To sell high-ticket products you need to make sure you can meet these high standards. Otherwise, customers might leave poor reviews and request refunds. This can ruin your business.
  • Requires Cost to Start-Up - To sell high-ticket products, you’ll need to create a high-end store. This is to help customers trust your brand so you can compete with other high-ticket brands. This will cost more to set up than a standard dropshipping store.
